Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This android-based pulmonary tuberculosis monotoring system application is very helpful in monitoring taking medication for patients through alarms and notifications received by the medication companion so that the schedule of taking medication becomes effective and the patient's recovery rate increases. This research was conducted descriptively with a quantitative approach. The number of respondents in the study was 57 respondents from health workers and drug-taking assistants (PMOs).  In this study, using rapid prototyping by going through 4 stages, namely system requirements analysis, system design, and implementation. From the results of testing conducted by 57 respondents, it was obtained that the application of monitoring the companion of taking tuberculosis drugs was successful. While the results of user testing, from 57 respondents obtained the results that 91% of users rated the design or appearance of the application as very suitable, 9% of users rated accordingly, 93% of users rated the ease of use of the application as very suitable, 7% of users rated accordingly, 84% of users rated the alarm and notification schedule of taking medication as very suitable, 16% of users rated accordingly, and 82% of users rated the benefits of the application as very suitable, and 18% of users rated accordingly. The rapid prototyping method is very effectively applied in the pulmonary tuberculosis monitoring application because it is equipped with alarm and notification features so that officers can easily monitor patients on their medication schedule.
